There are several ways in which you can access digital television. Listed below are the two most popular ways:
Satellite – Requires a mini dish and set-top box which can be connected to your existing television set. This is especially good in areas where people struggle with terrestrial signal. A twelve month contract to Sky needs to be taken out or you can opt for Freesat
 Terrestrial – Transmitted in a similar way to the current analogue system, Freeview is dependent on your aerial signal. A digital receiver is attached giving access to a number of free-to-air channels. A good indicator of whether it is available to you, is the quality of channel 5. A large amount of people will not need to change their aerials but others in areas of poor signal will either have to upgrade their current system or opt for an alternative.
